A voice should never wait.
Families of children with autism often wait months for funding and device assessments before a child gets a communication tool. We built one and made it free.
- Project area Community
- App Musa: Voice for ASD
- Type AAC communication app
- Price Free, no subscription
- Data Stays on the device
- Status Beta testing
- Website voiceforasd.com
Tap. Build. Speak.
AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) lets a child tap pictures to build sentences that the device speaks out loud. This demo board works the same way.
Built with families, for families.
Shaped by feedback from parents and speech therapists in our beta. We keep taking suggestions and keep improving with our users.
Locked and calm
No ads, no menus, and a parent lock so only a grown-up can exit.
Your own pictures
Upload family photos, favourite foods and places in bulk, beside the ARASAAC symbol set.
Speaks five
English, Spanish, French, Arabic and Urdu/Hindi at launch.
Guided roadmap
A parent portal that follows the Voice for ASD family pathway.
Nothing leaves
Everything stays on the device. Optional backup covers only the child's board and chosen documents.
Devices for kids
We plan to give tablets locked to Musa to children in need, as many as our budget allows.
The family & therapist hub.
An optional, separate space where families and their child's therapists can message, share progress and store documents such as IEPs, assessments and therapy plans. The Musa app keeps working with no account. The hub is opt-in, invite-only and controlled by the parent.
- 01Parent decides who sees what, and can revoke access anytime
- 02Verified with one-time codes by phone and email, no ID uploads
- 03Moderated family community with no advertising
Built to healthcare standards
The hub is being designed to meet the rules that govern health records in every market we serve. Dashed items are on our roadmap and not yet certified.
Musa is a communication aid and does not diagnose or treat autism. Work with your child's speech-language pathologist on goals.
Help us test Musa.
Parents and speech therapists can join the beta for free. Register on voiceforasd.com and you will get weekly invites.
